Our Services

Ingrown Toenail Surgery

Ingrown toenails are a common foot complaint that can quickly become problematic. Ingrown toenails can lead to intense pain, redness, swelling and can lead to infection.  The big toe is the most common site for ingrown toenails. Some of the common causes for ingrown toenails are trauma or injury to the nail; the shape of the nail; poor cutting technique; digital deformities and ill-fitting footwear. Nail surgery provides a permanent solution.

Our podiatrist conducts nail surgery in our treatment room under local anaesthesia. The offending section of nail is removed under local anaesthesia (no cutting of the skin or suturing is required), the growth plate (matrix) is destroyed using application of a chemical to stop the nail growing back. Upon completion of the procedure the client is able to walk immediately, with many people reporting little to no pain in the following days.
