Podiatrists are foot experts that help to prevent, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions affecting the foot, ankle and lower limb.
No. Podiatrists are primary health care providers so you do not require a referral.
We do however accept referrals under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan (previously EPC), from Veterans Affairs (DVA), TAC and WorkCover. The appropriate referral must be completed by your GP or Specialist PRIOR to your first appointment with us to enable the claim to be processed.
If your GP deems you eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (previously known as EPC) this entitles you to 5 allied health referrals in a calendar year. You must bring your referral and current Medicare card with you to your appointment.
Following payment in full after your consultation we will submit your claim to Medicare on your behalf. You will receive your Medicare rebate directly into your bank account the next business day. As of 01/07/2025 the Medicare rebate is $61.80. Please note, we do not bulk bill.
It might. Many private health insurance policies now include Podiatry under their 'extras' cover. We highly recommend that you confirm this directly with your insurer prior to your appointment.
Payment in full is required on the day of your consultation. Our clinic accepts cash, cheque, credit card and EFTPOS payments. Please note, we do not bulk bill.
We currently do not offer HICAPS however we hope to offer this service in the very near future. In the meantime we can provide you with a detailed receipt with the necessary details so you can claim back your private health insurance rebate directly from your health fund.
Following assessment by the Podiatrist they may decide that additional investigations are necessary. If diagnostic imaging is required you will be provided with the appropriate referral for x-ray &/or ultrasound. If more complex imaging is required, like a CT or MRI, your Podiatrist can liaise directly with your GP to discuss this further.
If you don't provide us with 24-hours notice, you might.
At Yea Podiatry Clinic we have a 'Late Cancellation and Failure To Attend Policy' because we respect that your time is valuable and we appreciate that you understand ours is too. If you fail to attend your appointment or cancel at short notice, another client in need often misses out, and as a small business, it costs us money and wastes the podiatrist's time.
Please read our policy details below carefully, to avoid any misunderstanding:
LATE CANCELLATION AND FAILURE TO ATTEND POLICY
At Yea Podiatry Clinic we kindly ask that you provide a minimum of 24-hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your podiatry appointment. This will allow us time to book another client from our waiting list. You may call us on 03 5736 0471 or email yeapodiatryclinic@gmail.com to cancel and reschedule your appointment. If it is outside business hours, please leave a voicemail on the clinic phone.
If you fail to cancel your appointment within 24-hours without a reasonable explanation, the following fees will apply:
We will email or post you an invoice for your cancellation fee to be paid. This fee is not eligible for medicare or private health rebate, and must be paid in full before you will be able to book future appointments. * Please note that we reserve the right to discharge clients from our service if they continue to fail to cancel appointments within the required timeframe.
As a small business, it is a constant frustration when clients fail to attend or cancel their podiatry appointment at short notice. It costs us money and time, as it prevents our podiatrist from seeing another client on our waiting list. We send SMS reminders as a courtesy, but it is not our responsibility to make sure you attend your appointment.
We understand that sudden events and changes in circumstances may occur, where you are unable to provide us with 24-hours cancellation notice. We will deliberate your reasoning and may void your cancellation fee after careful consideration.
Should you wish to make a complaint or discuss our 'Late Cancellation and Failure To Attend Policy' further, please contact Yea Podiatry Clinic on 03 5736 0471 or email yeapodiatryclinic@gmail.com.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
