Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find the answer to your question? E-mail us at yeapodiatryclinic@gmail.com.

Podiatrists are foot experts that help to prevent, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions affecting the foot, ankle and lower limb.

No. Podiatrists are primary health care providers so you do not require a referral.

We do however accept referrals under the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan (previously EPC), from Veterans Affairs (DVA), TAC and WorkCover. The appropriate referral must be completed by your GP or Specialist PRIOR to your first appointment with us to enable the claim to be processed.

If your GP deems you eligible for a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan (previously known as EPC) this entitles you to 5 allied health referrals in a calendar year. You must bring your referral and current Medicare card with you to your appointment.

Following payment in full after your consultation we will submit your claim to Medicare on your behalf. You will receive your Medicare rebate directly into your bank account the next business day. As of 01/07/2024 the Medicare rebate is $60.35. Please note, we do not bulk bill.

It might. Many private health insurance policies now include Podiatry under their 'extras' cover. We highly recommend that you confirm this directly with your insurer prior to your appointment.

Payment in full is required on the day of your consultation. Our clinic accepts cash, cheque, credit card and EFTPOS payments. Please note, we do not bulk bill.

  • If you have a referral from your GP, specialist or another healthcare provider please bring this with you.
  • Bring any medical imaging &/or diagnostic reports that are relevant to your current podiatric issue.
  • If this is your first visit or you are coming for biomechanical/gait analysis please bring a selection of your current footwear for assessment (runners, school shoes, work shoes, etc).
  • If you have a previous pair of orthotics or insoles please bring them with you.
  • If you are attending for a diabetes foot assessment please bring along a copy of your most recent blood test results, in particular your HbA1c result.

We currently do not offer HICAPS however we hope to offer this service in the very near future. In the meantime we can provide you with a detailed receipt with the necessary details so you can claim back your private health insurance rebate directly from your health fund.

Following assessment by the Podiatrist they may decide that additional investigations are necessary. If diagnostic imaging is required you will be provided with the appropriate referral for x-ray &/or ultrasound. If more complex imaging is required, like a CT or MRI, your Podiatrist can liaise directly with your GP to discuss this further.
